Curriculum

To explore the essence of early childhood education, our curriculum is based on play activities. Play way method is essentially child-centered and caters to individual needs, interests and abilities. Play is second nature to a child. It serves as a natural way for children to express ideas and feelings as well as to explore and understand the world around them. It also helps to build social relations among children. It is thus valuable in supporting the all-round development of a child. For imparting early childhood education, it therefore becomes an effective medium.

It provides learning experience to the child in a concrete form through play situations so that the child becomes an active participant. It provides a balanced process oriented program which fulfils all developmental objectives. It nurtures development for learning process like observation, experimentation, problem solving and creativity in children. It facilitates individual attention and continuous evaluation of each child. Group and individual activities provide immediate feedback to the teacher. The essence of early childhood education is “development oriented” and not syllabus oriented. The evaluation of a child is done individually and covers all aspects of development like socio-emotional, physical and cognitive and language.

The main activities we provide are:

Writing Skills

This is clearly writing of all alphabets and numbers. All activities increase the readiness of each child to step into Kindergarten.

Prewriting Skills

Activities include scribbling, tracing, joining dots, coloring within boundaries etc. All of this enables the child to move with confidence to writing as he grows.

Early Language Skills

This is divided over 7 major areas namely English, Math, General Knowledge, Rhymes, Story Telling and Conversation. All the activities in each of the area will be conducted orally. They include identification, recitation of alphabets and numbers; learning to listen, repeat, imitate, build up confidence in the area of singing rhymes; understanding sequence of events in a story; to speak in complete sentence and develop awareness of the surrounding thereby conversing with playmates.

Montessori Workshop

Various activities like matching, picture reading, puzzles, games for audio-visual discrimination, structured and free play are orderly conducted throughout the terms to fulfil objectives like developing listening & sound discrimination skills, attention span, memory and observation, sequential thinking, muscle strengthening, turn taking, vocabulary development and many more.

Cognitive Skills

Children are trained to comprehend concepts and use them appropriately in their daily activities- logical thinking, observation skills, sequencing, concept of shapes, sizes , opposites etc. These help them further to excel in their academic areas as well.
